Motorola i940 iDEN Android phone unveiled in Brazil

Motorola unveiled a new iDEN Android smartphone in Brazil – i940. Available through the local branch of Nextel, it can be bought in Casas Bahia and Ponto Frio stores for 1,199 reais which translates into about $670.
That’s a lot of money for what Moto i940 has to offer. Basically, it’s a rugged, mid-range smartphone with specs that include a 3.5-inch display (most likely HVGA), Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, noise cancellation technology and a microSD memory card slot. Of course, push to talk capability comes included as well, allowing for walkie-talkie like communication between members of the same group.
Now we’re not sure whether the i940 will ever hit the U.S. shores. And considering Sprint plans to phase out its iDEN network that may never happen. It’s not like that anyone will want the i940 now that Moto has much better phones…
