Fear not, good people of Australia, the word on the street is that the Google Nexus 7 tablet we be available for you to purchase in local retail stores in the very near future. According to Gizmodo.au you will be able to pick up the new Android tablet from the following stores: Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, Bing Lee, The Good Guys, Retravision, Radio Rentals, Officeworks, EB Games, Costco, BSR and authorised ASUS resellers. Priced at $319 for the 16GB variant consumers purchasing the tablet through these retailers will pay an additional $20.00 compared to the online price direct from Google but ASUS have stated that this is due to the costs associated with shipping to Australia.

Unlocked Samsung focus 2 is now available in Australia. 
Not content to have the 16 megapixel HTC Titan II, the Samsung Focus 2 has just popped up for sale on from MobiCity for $649 Australian.

Nokia lumia 610 and Lumia 900 Coming to Australia in Next Month

Today in Australia Nokia will be holding a Media event which is to announce that Nokia Lumia 610 and Lumia 900 will be coming to Australia next month.
The Lumia 900 arrives in June from Optus for $0 upfront on the $60 plan — but you’ll also be able to pick it up off contract for $699 from retailers. The prepaid entry-level Lumia 610 is also just a few weeks away; arriving first on Boost Mobile in pink and blue ($329 to buy the phone). Vodafone will follow up with the black Lumia 610 in July. The economic Lumia 610 features an 800Mhz processor with 256MB RAM, 5MP camera and a 3.2 LCD display.

Melbourne Nokia Lumia Augmented Reality Event

Nokia has continued its tour of the Australian cities with their Augmented Reality event. 1800PocketPC managed to catch up with them in Melbourne yesterday, where they managed to attract a small crowd.

The Kinect-powered event saw users being able to harass Angry Birds , have a virtual dance off with Timomatic or see a Kangaroo take directions from a virtual voice, punctuated occasionally by ads for the Nokia Lumia 800.
