No specs are confirmed but will also have the PureView camera technology and a 4.5” display.

Nokia Lumia 610 will soon came to the UK carrier O2

Nokia Lumia 610 will soon came to the UK carrier O2. The handset is expected to arrive later in July and is expected to retail for around £150 on Pay as You Go.

At that price range the handset will be competing with the HTC Desire C, which costs £139 and only has a half VGA screen, and likely does not run Ice Cream Sandwich very well on its 600 Mhz single core processor.
The addition will add to O2 UK’s Windows Phone range, which at present only includes the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800, but omits the Nokia Lumia 900.

Nokia's US President says Pureview technology will be coming with Lumia handsets in the future with Windows Phone. Windows Phone 8 Device AreTested in Australia

Rumors are around that the Windows phone 8 devices by HTC ans Samsung are currently being tested in Australia. According to WPDownUnder – an Australian blog devoted to Microsoft's mobile platform, at least three manufacturers are currently testing a Windows Phone 8 handset of their own. Multiple sources claim that test units made by Nokia are within the country, with possibly devices by HTC and Samsung being tested as well.
It is said that the styling of the Nokia Windows Phone 8 device is"almost identical" to that of the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900, although the internal hardware might be totally different. That said, today's rumor should not be interpreted as a hint that these two current handsets will be updated to WP8 one day. There is no information about the alleged Samsung and HTC WP8 smartphones, so their existence is still highly questionable.

We are expecting to know more about Windows Phone 8 and the devices it will run on within the following weeks. The Windows Phone Developer Summit begins on June 20, and that is when we are expecting to see the platform's next iteration in all its glory.

Nokia “smokes” BlackBerry users in new Amazing Everyday video challenge

Nokia wants you to use the “Smarter Apps” of their Lumia Windows Phone line, and in the tradition of past Windows Phone challenges has released a video showing of a demonstration representative challenging some BlackBerry users to see who can check in via FourSquare more rapidly.
The video is more light-hearted than the “Smoked by Windows” campaign earlier this year, and includes a magic trick as well as free Lumia’s for the participants in the challenge. Like the Smoked by Windows commercials, the video focuses on the benefits of being able to pin apps to the Live Tiles, which in this case lets the user check in in a couple of short taps.

Check out the kinder and gentler challenge video below and let us know what you think. If you want to see more of Nokia’s “Smarter Apps” campaign, check out the source link below.

New Nokia Lunia Range Concept phone Nokia Lumia 850

New Nokia Lunia Range Concept phone Nokia Lumia 850. It should look like. To clarify, there is no such thing as the Lumia 850 currently so this is neither a leak nor a rumor. It’s just a concept that is the result of a designer from Luxembourg with the handle, BrianMFB who is expressing himself. The concept is similar to a Lumia 800 that has been slimmed down but it still retains much of the original character.
You can find the volume buttons, On/OFF button and camera button on that side. At the top we have what looks like the microSIM card slot, if I’m not mistaking. I like the form factor of this device and this wide approach could be interesting in the future. Do you prefer the longer Lumia 800 or the wider Lumia 850?

Nokia Lumia 900 Is Now Available in UK From Today Onward

Nokia Lumia 900 is now available in UK from today onward. In the UK, Phones4U sells the Lumia 900 exclusively in white. Cyan and black are currently not available, but soon the Lumia 900 will go on sale more widely
In addition, the list of Nokia exclusive Windows Phone apps is now being called the Nokia Market on the phone, rather than the Nokia Collection. This would seem to show that Nokia has worked with Microsoft to push the Nokia brand more on the Lumia 900 in the UK.

We should soon see if UK residents will warm up to the Lumia 900 like they have in the US. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has admitted that previous members of the Lumia family have met with mixed sales results in the UK.

Windows phone White Lumia 900 Now Listed as Temporarily Out of Stock

While the black and cyan versions of the Lumia 900 have had a couple weeks to sell, the white Lumia 900 was released only two days ago and is now listed as temporarily out of stock on the AT&T website. Sales numbers for the Lumia 900 continue to be strong in all three colors, so the launch of a magenta device in May to coincide with Mother’s Day could be a great thing after all.
When asked when more devices would be available in cyan and white, Nokia had this to say:

We are building and shipping devices constantly – so stores are receiving more units to fulfill demand on a regular basis.
With the exclusivity period for AT&T ending in just a few weeks, it seems Nokia will really have to ramp up production in order to meet world wide demand if the demand in the US and Canada are any indication.

Nokia Lumia 900 teardown reveals mediocre hardware

Nokia and Microsoft are betting big on the Lumia 900, hoping the device will help make a name for Windows Phone in the United States. The handset will be exclusively offered by AT&T for a mere $99.99 with a new two-year agreement on April 8th. TechRepublic on Tuesday cracked open the device and examined its internal components. The conclusion: mediocre hardware is the reasons for its low price. With almost every other competing smartphone offering dual-core or quad-core processors, Nokia instead chose a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz. The Lumia has a smaller battery, lower resolution display and less RAM than most of its competitors as well. The handset is also thicker and heavier than most, although it has a good build quality according to the site. Despite these shortcomings, Nokia’s Lumia 900 is a terrific smartphone that gives Windows Phone its best shot yet to succeed.

Nokia 719c and Nokia Lumia 710 for China pictured

Pictures have leaked of the Nokia 719c in China, which in fact appears somewhat different from the Nokia Lumia 710, pictured from its official Certification documentation.
While both devices have the same size clear black screen and physical rather than capacitive buttons, the Nokia 719c has rounder corners and the top right corner appears to be specially marked, suggesting something like a NFC chip in that location. Apparently the mark is just the screen protector.
According to the thread, the handset will support both CDMA and GSM, suggesting it is heading to China Telecom, a carrier with 130 million CDMA users.

Nokia Lumia 710, 800 and 900 to get tethering as well

Earlier today we reported about the Nokia Lumia 610 having the ability to tether – something that the “higher-end” Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 phones can’t do. Well it looks like it was just an oversight on Nokia’s part. According to a new Q&A post on the Nokia web page, those aforementioned phones will have the option to tether in the future via a software update. It wasn’t mentioned when the update would be arriving, but it should be after Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh is released. The Nokia Lumia 900 will have tethering right out of the box.

For those of you who don’t know – tethering is basically the ability to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot, so you can share your data connection with WiFi-only devices. It is a pretty useful feature to especially when you’re usually in places with no WiFi to leech off, and you have a WiFi-only tablet or netbook you use to go online with. How many of you are looking forward to the tethering update on your Lumia phones?
