Facebook announces 2012 Hacker Cup

Facebook has opened registrations for its 2012 Hacker Cup moments ago. The second edition of the competition invites programmers from across the world to participate in a hackathon to work around complex algorithmic problems and prove their mettle. The top 100 programmers after the first round will participate in the next round, of which the top 25 will be invited to Facebook’s HQ for the final round. Yes, there are prizes to be won but the biggest one in our books would be the bragging rights that come with the competition. Just in case you were wondering, like our very own ‘Bones‘, the rules don’t say you have to take a shot of alcohol every few minutes.
