Texas Instruments is scheduled to showcase an ARM based Windows 8 tablet at
CES this week, claims a report filled by The Verge. The tablet is
expected to be powered by the OMAP4470 processor. Previously Microsoft
demonstrated a Windows 8 ARM tablet at the build conference, which was also
powered by a Texas Instruments processor, but in this case it was the 1GHz
dual-core OMAP4430, however as it was a reference design prototype it was kept
behind glass. This time around the Texas Instruments tablet is expected to be
powered by the 1.7 GHz dual-core OMAP4470, which could give us a feel of the
performance of Windows 8 on ARM processors.
