Internet Explorer 6 usage in the US drops below 1%

We all know by now how much Microsoft wants to get rid of its Internet Explorer 6 web browser and it looks like it’s been working hard at getting the word out. According to its latest announcement on its Internet Explorer blog, it has been reported that IE 6 usage in the US has now officially dropped below 1%. In addition to the US, the rest of the world has been following suit as well, with the Czech Republic, Mexico, Ukraine, Portugal and the Philippines also hitting the 1% usage of the “Champion’s Circle”.
At the time of writing, 7.7% of the world still uses IE 6 so it might be a few more years before it is completely eliminated. How many of you recently upgraded from IE6, and what browser do you use now?
