Google’s Android Market Hits 400,000 Applications

We heard back in December that Google’s Android Market had reached a total of 10 billion downloads, and now the Android Market has hit another milestone, according to Distimo.

There are now more than 400,000 active applications available in the Android Market, this is up from the 300,000 active applications from August of 2011.

Out of the 400,000 active applications available to download, around two thirds of those apps are free apps, and free apps are continuing to grow in the Android market.

It took Google just two more months to reach the 400,000 applications mark as it did Apple, which hit 400,000 apps back in June of 2011.
