Does the iPad 3 look identical to the iPad 2?

iPad 3 rumours are all the rage right now, with the industry generally expecting Apple – based on the past couple of years – to make some sort of announcement within the next few months.
There’s lots of talk of a high definition display, but one thing we haven’t heard much about is the actual design. Enter: iLounge’s Jeremy Horwitz.

Jeremy claims to have had a hands-on with the iPad 3, and notes that it looks almost identical to the iPad 2. Jez explains: “From the back, you could walk past this new iPad on display and have no idea that anything had changed.”
Indeed, Jeremy suggests that the successor to the iPad 2 might be dubbed the iPad 2S or iPad 2 HD.
The iPad 3 (let’s stick with that name for now) will reportedly be 1mm thicker than the iPad 2, in order to accommodate enhanced internals, which of course means you’ll have to fork out once again for a Smart Cover.
The camera, according to Jeremy, will be the same as that found on the iPhone 4S, but without the LED flash.
So, er, nothing much new there, and Jeremy himself concedes that the device he saw might in fact have been an early prototype.
Ah well, it shouldn’t be long till we find out for sure. Unless Apple pulls an iPhone 4S on us and leaves us hanging for four months.
