RIM launches its BlackBerry 10 OS with Some Interesting New Features

BlackBerry 10 Launched at BlaBerry World 2012 to fight with the Android and Apple.
BlackBerry 10 looks great and promises a lot.The software keyboard has clearly been given plenty of attention, but considering RIM's messaging heritage we expected as much – especially with physical keyboards on their way out. BB10 also introduces flick gestures, for example for selecting words thrown up by the text autocomplete feature.
As with the PlayBook 2.0 OS, BB10 will also support Android apps and will be the most developer-friendly BlackBerry OS to date backed by apps created with HTML5, Air Flash and CSS. Hurray for devs!
The new RIM seems to have identified its flaws and is working to change that in BB10. While Thorstein seems to genuinely think BB10 will save RIM and the BlackBerry brand, we can't help but feel the company is now extremely late to the modern mobile party. Just ask Windows Phone how it's doing. It's not doing great. It'll take a miracle to turn around BlackBerry. It also doesn't help that RIM is the one behind the "Wake Up" flashmob that popped up at an Apple Store in Sydney.

In US T-Mobile Launched Huawei Made Prism on May 6

We first heard about the T-Mobile bound Huawei Prism way back in February, where it was made known alongside the Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G and HTC Vile (which is the HTC One S). With all of that time behind us, we’re finally learning about a launch date for the entry-level Android powered smartphone.The Prism packs a 600MHz processor, a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 3 megapixel snapper and a microSD card slot with a 2GB pre-installed card. The phone is Wi-Fi-enabled and will support 3G with HSDPA
The rumored launch price for the Prism is $50 on a T-Mobile contract.

Samsung Starts Updating its Galaxy Series in Canada

In Canada after long wait Samsung starts updating its galaxy series to the latest version of android 4.0Ice Cream Sandwich.
There's no information on exactly which devices will be first, and as is always the case, when you get your update will probably be heavily dependent on your carrier of choice. Regardless, the fact that these updates seem to have been rubber-stamped by Samsung is a good indication. Here's the manufacturer's list of ICS-upgradable devices --

One in five U.S. households have Internet-enabled TVs [Research]

New research studies are trying to prove how our homes have gone hi-tech. According to ABI Research, approximately 27 million households in the U.S. have either an Internet-ready TV, game console, Blu-ray player, or smart set-top box connected to a home network – that’s more than one in five U.S. households. Based on the research, gaming consoles are the most likely to be connected to the Internet taking 80% of the chart.
Internet TVs cover 27% of the pie while Blue-ray players (standalone) are up at 24%. Smart set-top boxes come in last with just 13% of them wired to the web. Surprisingly, the research also showed that a large number of customers, mostly those who have Internet-ready TVs, have not connected their devices to their home network. But ABI research thinks that the numbers will increase by 60% in 2017, painting the idea of how much wired we will become anytime soon

The Case For A MacBook Pro Without An Optical Drive

When Apple introduced the MacBook Air without an optical drive, everyone freaked out. “How on earth will we be able to watch all of our DVDs and listen to our CDs?” cried the internet. And sure, totally disowning physical media with a disk drive-less laptop may have been a little preemptive of Apple back in 2008, but the times have changed since then. We live in a world of digital media and digital software distribution. The success of services like Netflix and the Mac App Store proves that.
With rumors saying that Apple will introduce new and improved Macs in the coming weeks, what can we expect? Faster processors? Solid-state hard drives? Retina displays? While these features certainly seem to be on the table, there’s also the chance that Apple’s next-gen MacBook Pro will sport significant physical changes. Namely, we could finally see the optical drive retire from the MacBook line once and for all.
The MacBook Pro’s physical design has basically stayed the same since its aluminum unibody design was introduced way back in 2008. There hasn’t needed to be new a design because the current one is already fantastic — no other laptop has yet to match it in terms of build quality or design precision.
Apple introduced the new and improved MacBook Air with a gorgeous, tapered, ultra-thin exterior in October of 2010. The sleek, lightweight design of the MacBook Air is widely considered to be the future of Apple’s MacBook line. Heck, Apple even calls it the “future of the notebook” on its website. Call me crazy, but that sounds like foreshadowing.
The current Air weighs only 2.38 pounds, and the casing is only about half an inch thick. This engineering feat is accomplished with the help of Apple’s decision to ditch the optical drive out of the gate. You have to buy an exterior SuperDrive to read disks on the Air. And who really uses their SuperDrive that often? I know I don’t remember when I used mine last.
