HTC starts Android 4.0 for Sensation XL AND XE

HTC starts Updating the Sensation XE and the Sensation XL in India to Android 4.0 (Ice cream Sandwich).
The update is 196.53 MB in total. Last month HTC had updated its Android 4.0 update timeline which included both the Sensation smartphones, but notably it stated that the update will not include the latest version of Sense UI 4.0, but it will offer an older version of its Sense skin called Sense 3.6.
HTC claimed this was due to the limited amount of ROM on the older devices, so it will be interesting to see how the Sensation XL and the Sensation XE perform after the update to Ice Cream Sandwich as we have already seen devices like the Xperia Ray get train wrecked by the update to Android 4.0

Motorola DROID RAZR Will Get Ice Cream Sandwich Today

According to CNET reports Motorola DROID RAZR will get Ice cream sandwich today.
The only problem is,Verizon apparently missed the memo. The VZW Support Twitter account is responding to user demand for Ice Cream Sandwich with news that an official date of deployment has yet to be set. DroidLife points out that we have yet to see the typical round of test updates delivered to members of the Motorola Feedback Network, and likely will not see a full rollout until after that initial phase comes and goes.

Of course, we must remember the June 12th date was never official, and as is typically the case with updates it is best not to start counting the chickens before they hatch.

ICS update has begun for Verizon's Motorola XOOM

If you're a Motorola XOOM owner on Verizon, we've got great news: The 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update has begun rolling out. We saw the Verizon update roadmap a couple weeks ago, suggesting that the ICS update could drop at any time, so it's nice to see it hit not too long afterwards. There are a lot of enhancements that come with this update. The four features that Verizon is taking the most time to point out are:
  • The Launch Bar, which allows you to drop applications, shortcuts and folders into and access from any homescreen
  • Usage Center, which Verizon has been highly touting as of late. It lets you keep track of your data usage
  • Notification Pop Up Box, which contains all of your inboxes and notifications in one streamlined box
  • Folders, you've all seen ICS folders by now, so you'll get to create and use them on the XOOM screen as well
There are many other benefits from the update though. Here is a list:
  • 4G LTE upgrade issues resolved
  • Exchange/Activesync policy improvements
  • EAS security and sync fixed
  • Email search
  • Updated browser with faster rendering
  • Updated People application
  • Improved text input
  • Improved stability
  • App launcher has been redesigned to allow app dragging to uninstall or disable
  • Launch camera from lockscreen option
  • Single mode panorama mode
  • Photo editor added in Gallery application
  • New font (Roboto)
There is lots to like about this update, so if you have a XOOM, keep an eye out. If you haven't received it yet, sit tight, it's rolling out gradually. It is an OTA update, so all you have to do is go to Settings -> About Tablet -> System Update to check to see if you can get it.

If you have it and want to brag about the new features or just want to see how others are liking the update, sing out in our Motorola XOOM Forum.

T-Mobile Announced the ICS update for Samsung Galaxy S II on June 11

Through Twitter T-Mobile Announced the Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy SII on June 11. T-Mobile confirmed the fantastic news through Twitter and while it hasn’t provided any of the specific details in regards to the update, it did confirm the software’s release date which should put Galaxy S II owners minds at ease.
The update doesn’t look like it will be rolling out Over-the-Air like the updates for the HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Amaze 4G. Instead, T-mobile says that it will be available through Samsung’s Kies software.
The software should bring a number of fixes and improvements along with it, in addition to Android 4.0 and the many features that it has to offer.
This has been a long time coming for Galaxy S II owners who have been waiting patiently for the update to arrive. And, as it turns out, T-Mobile looks like it will be the first major U.S. carrier to roll out Android 4.0 to its Galaxy S II device.

AT&T and Sprint have yet to do so.
The roll out comes shortly before T-Mobile is expected to launch its next major Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S II. The carrier has been rumored to be rolling out the next Galaxy smartphone sometime during the month of June, possibly on June 20th.

In addition, T-Mobile is rumored to be getting another popular Samsung smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note, at some point in July.

July 11th has been rumored as a release date.
As for Galaxy S II owners, June 11th probably couldn’t come soon enough.
Enjoy your Ice Cream Sandwich, folks.

Android 4.0.4 update for Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus should be starting any day now

Yesterday we saw the support docs for the Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus update to Android 4.0.4 go live, a sure sign that new software is right around the corner. Today, multiple sources out of Big Red have been hyping the update, giving the impression that it could begin any day now, if not within the next 24 hours. A tweet from Verizon’s Albery Aydin says Android 4.0.4 “will soon be pushed,” while a spokesperson for VZW confirmed the same to DroidLife.
Our most recent check of the “System updates” dialog under Settings/About phone returned nothing at the time of this writing, but we’ll be sure to watch that space like a hawk until we can pull down a fresher Ice Cream Sandwich build. Be sure to let us know when the update hits your handset!

LG announces ICS for its LG Optimus LTE, Optimus LTE Tag, Optimus Vu

LG announces Android 4.0(ice cream sandwich) for its LG Optimus LTE, Optimus LTE Tag, Optimus Vu on June 4.When LG announced the Optimus Vu it promised that the phone would receive Ice Cream Sandwich within three months of its March launch. True to its word, the company has now announced the ICS update.

Along with the latest flavor of Google's mobile operating system, all three phones will also be bumped up to Optimus UI 3.0. The new skin had quite a few nice touches when we took a look at it with the Optimus LTE 2 earlier this month, including a new lock screen and a voice-activated camera shutter. However, it's not clear how many of the new software features demonstrated on that phone will make it to the three upgraded devices.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update starts for HTC Sensation XL

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update starts for HTC Sensation XL as this particular Android 4.0 update has already started to seed, which means it should not be too long until many other Sensation XL owners who always want to be on the cutting edge of technology will be able to give the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update a go.
Hopefully there will not be any reports of unwanted bugs and all, but according to the screenshot that you see on the right, a user from Romania managed to capture details of his Sensation XL which has Ice Cream Sandwich version 4.0.3 and HTC Sense 3.6, breathing a new lease of life into a smartphone device that seemed to be on its last legs already.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II Owners still waits for ICS update

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II Owners still waits for ICS update to Galaxy S II  the latest 32.3MB sized software update for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II is none other than a maintenance update. Bumping up its software to version T989UVLDE, it mainly consists of the usual set of bug fixes we’re normally accustomed to seeing with most new software updates
As it currently stands, it’s being rolled out to devices through June 22nd, which really makes you wonder even more when we’ll see another one for Ice Cream Sandwich.
If you haven’t seen that notification popping up on your handset, you can obviously push the process by checking for it manually. So what exactly is included with this maintenance update? It features a fix for random reboot/power off problems, device stability improvements, a Qualcomm chip patch, and Google Security fixes.

Android 4.0 Should comes to HTC Thunderbolt it is the Verizon's first 4G LTE smartphone to have ICS.
Since its release, it has received several software updates, and is expected to be blessed with Ice Cream Sandwich - but not yet.
The newest update for the device (version 2.11.605.19 710RD) should be rolling out at any time, but looks to be just a routine maintenance release. We hope the next update for the HTC ThunderBolt will include Ice Cream Sandwich.
