So if you are planning to buy Windows 8 anytime soon, this is a good opportunity to download it and try it out for free. Do note that the trial edition will expire and you will not be able to upgrade it. You will have to uninstall the trial and then install Windows 8 de nova from its original installation media. It might therefore be a better idea to run Windows 8 Enterprise Edition Trial Version in a virtual environment, thereby allowing you to upgrade your original Windows installation to Windows 8.

You will be required to login with your Microsoft Account during installation and activate it within 10 days of its installation. No product key is required for it. If you fail to activate it within 10 days or on expiry of the 90-day evaluation period, your desktop will turn black.

Microsoft offers Windows 8 free Trail for all Users

Microsoft is offering a 90-day trial version of the operating system for anyone who wants to give it a try. Trial users get to install Windows 8 Enterprise edition, either 32-bit or 64-bit, and test the new operating system for three months.

Although anyone can download this trial version, Microsoft states that this evaluation edition is primarily intended for developers and IT professionals who may be “interested in trying Windows 8 Enterprise on behalf of their organization.” It is important to note that users will not be able to upgrade to the full version of Windows 8 after this trial expires, so Microsoft recommends installing this version onto a virtual machine or a separate hard drive partition.

After installing the evaluation edition, users will have 10 days to activate the trial. If the operating system isn’t activated, or the 90-day period has passed, the the desktop background will turn black and a persistent popup alert will start annoying the user and the computer will shut down every hour without saving any work.

Despite these restrictions, this is the first chance average consumers have to try out the new Windows 8 operating system. If you want to give the trial version a try, we recommend following Microsoft’s advice and installing Windows 8 on a virtual machine or in partitioned hard drive space.

Microsoft to unveil Windows 8 tablet on Monday

According to The Wrap, who cites sources close to Microsoft, Microsoft will be unveiling a Windows 8 tablet this Monday in LA at an invite-only press event. The tablet is said to be a Microsoft-branded device and will be manufactured by Microsoft itself. The event is set for Monday, June 18 at 3:30 PST.
Rumors are saying that the tablet to be released will run Windows RT, the version of Windows destined for machines with ARM processors. Other specifications of the machine have not been rumored or guessed at, so it's a little hard to say what they will be. They most likely will take aim at the Apple iPad and have a similar size and processor.
After the event we will be able to tell you much more about the device, but until then, you'll have to take this rumor with a grain of salt. Nothing official from the company has confirmed that it is a tablet they are releasing. It could be something else entirely. More after it happens 3:30PST Monday.

Microsoft promotes the Windows 8 Pro with just $14.99

Microsoft promotes the Windows 8 Pro with just  $14.99  for Update to buyers of Windows 7-based PCs.
In regards to features, the Release Preview has bundled in plenty of new apps: the Bing Travel, News and Sports apps, plus the Xbox Live Games and Xbox Music apps (the latter of which finally integrates with your Zune Pass). Plus there's also a new wave of applications that have been released for the Windows Store today. Another welcome new addition is the inclusion of Flash support in the Metro version of Internet Explorer 10, but it is only permitted for use with certain whitelisted websites like YouTube.

Also in what appears to be a coordinated move by Microsoft, Bing has just launched a significant redesign to its front page. The appearance is decidedly more touch-friendly featuring larger images for quick access to Images and Videos plus the inclusion of Search History if you're logged in. This should go hand-in-hand with the site-wide Metro-style redesign that was launched last month. Check it out by visiting Bing for yourself.

Windows 8 Release Preview date leaked: 31st May 2012 |

If the reports are to be believed, Microsoft is set to launch the Release Preview of Windows 8 in the first week of June, although as some of you guys might recall, it was just yesterday that an alleged Release Preview was leakedin China. Now it looks like Microsoft could very well be launching the Windows 8 Release Preview today thanks to a developer blog which has since been pulled. According to the post, Microsoft had explicitly stated that the Release Preview for Windows 8 would be available today, the 31st of May.
Along with the release, Microsoft is also set to introduce a new device driver development kit and the release candidate version of Microsoft’s developer tools, Visual Studio 2012. These set of tools will include the Windows 8 SDK which developers can use to code desktop and Metro-styled apps. At the time of its posting, the blog post had links to the download of the Windows 8 Release Preview, but given that it has since been pulled, it is unclear at this point as to whether the post and its files will be coming back up later. Either way if you’re interested in getting your hands on the Release Preview, you can check Microsoft’s Developer Blog or check back with us later for more updates.

Microsoft now could be selling 80 inch Windows8 PC

Microsoft now could be selling 80 inch Windows 8 PC.So If you like your PC large and in charge, then here is some good news. Microsoft VP Frank Shaw recently told Wired UK that CEO Steve Ballmer has a Windows8 80-inch PC hanging on the wall of his office.
Microsoft wants Windows 8 running on any size screen that any manufacturer can produce, and they want those screens to offer touch input. 80 inches might seem like overkill, but just imagine, executives would love to have this on their wall, or in their boardrooms and Microsoft aims to sell this just like they do with Surface. It’s not for the general public.
Although eventually it will be available to people like us as well, but that is a ways off still. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait.

Windows 8-style Metro apps confirmed for Windows Phone 8

Its no surprise really, but mere confirmation that the Windows 8 Metro apps will be supported on Windows Phone 8. The news come via an October session at the SiliconValley Codecamp_12 hosted by Microsoft MVP Lino Taldros.
Microsoft has made it clear that current Silverlight and XNA apps will be supported in Windows Phone 8, but given how Silverlight is not supported in the Windows 8 Metro environment most feel that this is clearly not the future for developers in Windows Phone 8.
It would be interesting to see how close compatibility will be between Windows 8 applications and Windows Phone 8, but in all likelihood it will be a case of the same technology but having to redo the user interface.
Microsoft is expected to unveil Windows Phone 8 at a Developer summit in June, which should answer most of these questions.

Adobe Emergency: Fixes the zero-day bug with emergency update

Adobe gives the emergency update for its popular Flash Player program warned that hackers are exploiting a critical vulnerability in the program.
Flash Player 10.2.159.1, was released for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris on April 15. This update was Adobe’s second emergency patch in less than a month.

Adobe acknowledged the latest security flaw in Flash Player on April 11(security advisory CVE-2011-0611) and promised an emergency update to fix the flaw. Until the flaw was fixed, users were encouraged to disable Flash entirely.
Over the past couple years, Google has detected a variety of attacks on users of Gmail and other services. A spear phishing campaign disclosed in June targeted senior US government officials, military officials, and Chinese political activists. In March, the search giant warned that politically motivated attackers were exploiting a then unpatched vulnerability in all supported versions of Windows to spy on Google users.

Android users can upgrade by browsing to the Android Marketplace on their handsets.
Wednesday's patch fixes at least five other vulnerabilities that made it possible for attackers to remotely executive code or steal potentially sensitive information on machines running Flash.
