Sony Tablet S update introduces wireless PS3 controller action

We’re admittedly quite fond of the Sony Tablet S and Sony Tablet P, if only because they dare to differ from the traditional tablet mould. The Sony Tablet S is weighted to make it easier to hold, while the Sony Tablet P has a dual-screen set up.
Owners of the former – the magazine-style Sony Tablet S – are in for a treat, as Japanese users have recently been served an update that introduces the ability to connect your PS3 controller wirelessly.

A USB adapter cable thingy is required to pair the PS3 controller with the Sony Tablet S initially, but once you’re paired you’re free to dance around like a maniac unhindered as you play.
A vague translation of the accompanying press release explains: “For this update, you will ask a series of operations required to perform the update for you.” Er, ok.
In conjunction with the update, Sony has released an Ape Escape mini-game collection, available to download for free. Bonus.
Unfortunately the update only applies to the Sony Tablet S, and not the clamshell Sony Tablet P.
The update is expected to hit the rest of the globe shortly.
