Netflix launches iPad update and promises HD soon

Netflix announces it will bring HD streaming to its iPad app
Netflix has taken to Twitter to announce its new update for its iPad app and to reveal that another update will follow bringing HD streaming content to the new iPad's Retina display.
The company didn't outline when an HD update might hit but we expect it won't be too long as it'll be a good selling point and would make sense for it to get in there earlier than its competitors.
The current update just announced makes a few interface changes to smooth things out and fixes the odd bug here and there, in particular it sorts out specific problems with viewing content on an external display.
Notably the app also removes the ability to order DVDs to be delivered via snail mail, clearly an indication that the business model is shifting entirely towards streaming its content.
Netflix still operates on a free trial basis, after which you can subscribe for £5.99 per month.
