Samsung Galaxy Note Available to AT&T Subscribers

Any AT&T customer who really wants the Samsung Galaxy Note can order one today. This super-size Android smartphone is available unlocked from an online retailer.
Samsung Galaxy NoteThe device skirts the line between being a very large smartphone or a very small tablet, as it has a 5.3-inch, 1280 x 800, Super AMOLED display. Unlike most tablets, though, Samsung built in the ability to make phone calls.
The Galaxy Note is available from Expansys, a retailer that specializes in handsets and tablets that aren't available from wireless carriers. Because there is no carrier subsidy, the price is $780.
The Samsung device is unlocked, which means it can be used with any GSM network, but it only includes the 3G and 4G frequencies used by AT&T. T-Mobile customers could only use it for voice calls and 2.5G EDGE wireless networking.
There are rumors that this tabletphone is going to be officially released by AT&T in 2012. It's likely that the carrier is at least considering the idea after Samsung announced this morning that it had shipped over 1 million Galaxy Note units since its launch.
Samsung Galaxy Note PreviewThis device runs Android OS 2.3 on a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor. It includes 1GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and a microSD memory card slot.
The Galaxy Note has a stylus (and stylus slot), which is called the "S Pen". A native app, the S Memo, allows users to combine handwritten notes and drawings, as well as pictures, voice recordings and typed text.
This Samsung device sports a rear-facing 8MP camera that can record 1080p video, as well as a 2MP front-facing camera.
