It seems that Apple has picked up another victory in a patent case – not against Samsung, but rather, with HTC, as the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has ruled in favor of Cupertino, while declaring a ban on the import of numerous HTC devices Stateside, where among them would comprise of flagship phones such as the Sprint Evo 4G and Verizon Droid Incredible. You can more or less say that this particular ruling would signal the end of HTC’s business in the US.
The ITC ruled that HTC infringed upon a couple of Apple’s patents, and if the US President allows the decision pass through, a blanket ban on all affected HTC devices will come into effect on April 19, 2012, so HTC has four months thereabouts to make sure “alternate solutions” are implemented to overcome this particular ruling. I do wonder whether the White House would be getting plenty of calls, letters and emails from HTC in the months to come. With this victory, do you foresee Apple taking advantage of the situation and proceed against the rest of HTC handsets which are powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 3.0 Honeycomb, and 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich?
